Hello!

My name is Veronica

Can I just start by saying that this step you are taking to search for counseling is courageous! There might be many unknowns coming to mind as you consider the struggles your facing, the counselor you choose and their working style, and maybe even wondering if you will be received amid your concerns (I know I have felt this way before).

I am an Associate Professional Counselor in the state of Georgia, Certified as a Clinical Traumatologist with the Green Cross Academy of Traumatology, and trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) through the center for trauma and resiliency studies at Divine Mercy University.

I received my Masters of Science degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Divine Mercy University in 2022, my Associates of Science in Dental Hygiene from Georgia State University-Perimeter College in 2017, and my Bachelors of Science in Dental Hygiene from Augusta University in 2019. My background in dental hygiene has served as a solid foundation for working in the mental health field. I have worked with diverse populations, learned to treat patients comprehensively utilizing evidence-based research, and I continually strive to assess the needs of my patients to provide comfort and high-quality care.

In the counseling setting, I desire to meet my clients in a similar way and approach them uniquely and holistically! My approach to counseling fundamentally begins with the therapeutic relationship! Creating an empathetic and non-judgmental space for clients to be themselves and express their concerns comfortability is vital.

I use many different approaches in the counseling space and would consider myself eclectic under the umbrella of person-centered/trauma-focused therapy. I believe wholeheartedly in mind, body, and spirit integration for healing, thus, I am open to integrating spirituality based on clients’ wants and needs. I have a primary focus in Christian/Catholic spirituality and I am open to learning and helping those with different faith orientations.

Ultimately, I strive to empower my clients and help each individual to take ownership in their lives and either learn or re-learn to be the Key Holder!

Lastly, I believe that finding the right fit for counseling is fundamental! If you have any interest in connecting, we will first have an introductory phone call to determine what your needs and desires are for therapy. In the case that we determine that I am not the right fit, I will provide you with referrals to someone that might be a better fit for you! I look forward to speaking with you!
