Exciting News: Courtney Joins Our Practice!

We are thrilled to announce that Courtney has officially joined our practice! With her extensive experience and dedication to patient care, Courtney is a fantastic addition to our team.

From Courtney:

Talking through our thoughts is a beautiful way to heal, and for many, words come naturally. But sometimes, words alone only take us so far. If you have ever felt like you know your patterns intellectually but still feel stuck in your body or your head, you are not alone. I offer a creative shift to traditional talk therapy. My approach is designed to help you get out of your head and into a space where you can safely explore what is under the surface. I work with pre-teens through adults, with a focus on supporting those navigating anxiety, trauma, family conflict, and high-masking neurodivergence (Autism and ADHD). I also offer sessions fully in Spanish.

I utilize an integrative approach, including drama therapy. If that phrase makes you nervous, take a deep breath: absolutely no acting is required! If you want to sit on the couch and just talk, we can absolutely do that. My goal is simply to give you more than one way to express yourself. Because our brains and emotions don't always process difficult experiences in neat, perfectly formed sentences, we use flexible, creative tools to help.

If we decide to bring drama therapy or experiential tools into our sessions, it is always tailored entirely to your comfort level. Rather than just talking about a problem, we might use active, creative methods to look at it from a new angle. This can look like dynamic storytelling, using visual metaphors, working with a sand tray to map out complex emotions, or engaging in playful role exploration to practice boundaries. By combining traditional conversation with these creative tools, we can bypass the pressure to find the "perfect" words and find deeper, more active relief.

Ultimately, I value genuine, unmasked human connection. You deserve a space where you can drop the pressure to perform, set down the weight of expectations, and just be yourself.

My journey into active, experiential healing began at the University of Florida, where I earned my Bachelor of Science in Psychology alongside a certificate in Applied Theatre for Health. Driven by a passion to offer a holistic and adaptable form of counseling, I went on to earn my Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with a specialized concentration in Drama Therapy from Lesley University.

Outside of the office, you can often find me laughing with my husband and family, including our foster children. I also enjoy having one-way conversations with my two cats (I know they can understand me), singing in the car, and taking outdoor walks. On other days, my productivity looks a little different—usually because I am hyper-focusing on what household items I will need to order in two months. But not to worry, the dishes eventually get done. I strive to practice the same self-compassion and authenticity in my own life that I bring into the therapy room with you.

If you are looking for a therapy experience that feels collaborative, creative, and entirely yours, I would love to connect. Reach out today to schedule a free 15-minute consultation, and we can explore how we can work together to help you thrive.

Welcome, Courtney!

Please join us in welcoming Courtney to our practice. We are excited to have her on board and look forward to the great contributions she will make.
